Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.    - Romans 12:1

Worship Ideas

1. Quiet Meditation: Find a truly quiet spot and spend this time in silence. Try to clear your head and posture yourself to listen. Take time to think on the character traits of God, scripture, and the works He has done in your life.

2. Music: Find a place were you can be alone and turn on a CD that contains songs about God that you love to listen to. Sing along with your whole heart, kneel, raise your hands, close your eyes, or take whatever posture you feel is necessary to worship him through music.

3. Be a Servant: Think of one person in your life that you can serve/help. Make a decision on what it is you can help them with and take steps to accomplish this. Keep in mind Romans 12:1 that reminds us that our bodies are living sacrifices and walk in the joy that comes from obeying scripture.

4. Together: Gather your family together or a group of fellow Christ-Followers and spend some time speaking out why we worship God. Spend as long as you like speaking out, "I worship you God because...." statements until everyone has fully worshiped God.

5. Our Bodies: As we look at Romans 12:1 it forces us to think about the ways we use or misuse our bodies. Examine the way you treat your body (food, exercise, body language, sexuality) and make a decision to "worship" God through positive treatment and use of your body in some tangible way. Challenge yourself to share this decision with another person to help keep you on the right track.
