Readings: Luke 1:28-38, Psalm 121, Is 9:1-2
All heaven has been waiting patiently for this day to come… “What will she say?... What will she do?”
Did she understand…not sure. Did it all make sense… likely not. Did she know what was next… no. But she had heard what she needed to hear and I would think with her answer came a collective cosmic sigh, ““I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.”
But, don’t miss the next words in the text.
“Then the angel left her.”
The angel came and then angel left,
but God came and never again would leave.
Where is God asking you to trust? Where are things unclear? Where are you hesitant?
Father would you burn into our souls the reality that You have come and that You are near? In those spots in our lives where we don’t understand, where things don’t make sense, and where we don’t know what is next we hear today: “With You, all things are possible.”
Our response: “I am the Lord’s servant, and may it be to me as you have said.”
